v1.3.0 · 2026-10-15 · Update
Added the Board's own 2026–27 goal, approved 7–0 on August 10, 2026, to "complete a K–12 World Language program evaluation and present recommendations"; no evaluation has been published, so "finish your own evaluation first" now leads the asks. Added the district's October 9 budget video figures and reserve balances, the KCTV5 report of the October 14 roundtable (labeled as a news account), and the November advisory-committee discussion as a conditional date. Added the parents' side-by-side cost comparison (estimates, with ranges) on The Facts and Money, and a printable Board brief page. Added a program-wide total to the counter from the 2023 report's enrollment tables (2017–18 through 2022–23 only). Added the administrator-compensation review's aggregate findings, with its cautions; no individual salaries. Reframed the options page around keeping Mandarin inside the school day, with outside options collapsed as optional extras. Added peer districts' phase-out terms (news reports, labeled), reserve and gift-policy facts, and the narrow Policy IIA change. Research cutoff moved to October 15, 2026. Site colors changed to the Wolf Springs Elementary palette; no facts or figures from earlier versions changed. New sources W016–W035, W101–W111 (selected) and W201–W212.
v1.2.0 · 2026-10-14 · Update
Restructured for busy parents: the home page now leads with a 30-second summary and the highest-impact actions, Take Action is an ordered checklist, and the facts are consolidated on one page with deep dives behind it. Repeated material was shown once and linked elsewhere, the draft banner was removed, and the design was refined. Added a summary of the records requests parents have already filed. Applied the independent fact-audit corrections: tighter wording where paraphrases had drifted (the district "plans for" a K–12 commitment; Policy ID quoted exactly; approvals "not found in the records reviewed"), corrected page pinpoints, and the counter's enrollment caveat. Added the district legislative page as source W012 for the superintendent's published address. On special-education funding, restated the official figures as the sources state them, added a finding on the competing local-option-budget calculation with its sources (W013–W015), and revised the legislator letter and phone script. No figures changed.
v1.1.0 · 2026-10-14 · Update
Site renamed Keep BV Mandarin and presented as a parent-led effort. Added a "Who we are" introduction and clearer calls to action. Facts and sources are unchanged.
v1.0.0 · 2026-10-14 · Release
First draft of the site, built from the research packet with a cutoff of October 14, 2026. Added district contact addresses, with their verification status, and district Board and leadership pages as sources W001–W003.
Research supplements in progress
Administrator compensation and administrative spending. An independent review re-checked the public administrator-compensation figures against official state and district records. Only aggregate, position-level findings are published here. No individual's pay is listed, and no administrator salary is presented as an avoidable saving. The named-payroll material in the underlying research is not published.
Family-supported or contracted Mandarin alternatives. Research on outside-provider and family-supported options was checked against district policies and published fees. Families told us they want Mandarin kept inside the school day, so those asks lead; outside options appear only as optional extras. No verified precedent exists for a family-funded school-day program, other states' arrangements do not establish what Kansas law allows, and the 2023 rule against privately funded teacher salaries is unresolved, not expired.
